WHO WE ARE
We’re divers, ocean people and explorers.
Savage Travel Co. brings together people who love diving, wildlife and getting off the beaten track.
Scuba diving is at the heart of what we do, but a good adventure doesn't end when you get out of the water. We love discovering new places, meeting local people and experiencing a destination properly, both above and below the surface.
From shark diving in South Africa to marine conservation programmes and professional dive training, we're here for the experiences worth travelling for.
NOT YOUR TYPICAL DIVE HOLIDAY
We're not a traditional travel agent and cookie-cutter package holidays aren't really our thing.
We bring together a handful of carefully chosen adventures each year, working with experienced local operators we know and trust.
We believe the best trips are about more than the diving. They're about good people, local knowledge, unexpected discoveries and occasionally finding that little bar you probably wouldn't have stumbled across on your own.

14–24 October 2027
Dive one of South Africa's most spectacular reef systems, inside the UNESCO listed iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Warm Indian Ocean water, thriving coral reefs, turtles, rays and passing pelagics. With every dive beginning the South African way, an adrenaline-fuelled surf launch through the waves.
🇿🇦 SHARK DIVING, SOUTH AFRICA
23 October–1 November 2027
This isn't a relaxed reef crawl. We're heading to Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks, two of South Africa's legendary shark diving destinations, for an unforgettable week of big animal diving.
Expect sharks, current, blue water and some seriously exciting diving.
No cages. No fluff. Just sharks and the ocean.

The dates have been deliberately planned so adventurous divers can combine Sodwana Bay + Shark Week into one incredible South African diving journey.
Start among the reefs and marine life of Sodwana Bay, then continue south for the big animal diving of Aliwal Shoal and Protea Banks.
Book either trip individually or join us for both and experience the best of South Africa above and below the water.
Guests joining both trips will spend one night in Durban with Shaun during the group changeover.

We're working on something new in the Mediterranean.
Crystal clear water, volcanic underwater landscapes, big groupers and some of the best diving in the Mediterranean. We're currently developing a new Savage trip to the island of Ustica, Sicily.

Train towards becoming a PADI Dive Professional while gaining real world experience in Sodwana Bay, South Africa, one of Africa's most exciting diving destinations.

🇿🇦 MARINE CONSERVATION INTERNSHIPS, SOUTH AFRICA
Multiple Dates
Combine incredible diving with hands on marine conservation in Sodwana Bay, South Africa.
Whether you're already a certified diver or completely new to scuba, the programme can include the training you need to get underwater and involved.
You'll spend your time contributing to real marine research, including Nudibranch monitoring and reef biodiversity surveys, collecting photographic data and developing your knowledge of the marine environment.
All while experiencing one of Africa's most remarkable reef systems.

SCUBA DIVING COURSES
Whether you're taking your first breaths underwater or looking to develop your skills, we offer scuba diving courses and continuing education in Kalmar, Sweden, working with trusted local dive centres.
Depending on the course and destination, training can also be incorporated into selected Savage Travel dive trips, giving you the opportunity to learn, develop your skills and explore somewhere new along the way.
From beginner certification to advanced and professional training, there's always another step to take underwater.

We spend a lot of time in the ocean. We reckon looking after it comes with the territory.
As a PADI AWARE Partner, we support ocean conservation and encourage responsible diving. Through our local partners and conservation programmes, divers can also get involved in marine research, citizen science and learning more about the places we explore.
Not every dive needs to be a conservation project. But respecting marine life, choosing responsible operators and supporting worthwhile initiatives all make a difference.
